Take control of your file's identity. Our Edit PDF Metadata tool lets you modify hidden properties like Title, Author, Subject, and Keywords, ensuring your document is correctly indexed and professionally presented.
What is PDF Metadata?
Metadata is "data about data." It resides in the header of your PDF file and is not visible on the printed page. However, it is used by operating systems, search engines, and PDF readers to display document details, organize files, and improve searchability.
How it Works
We read the "Info Dictionary" of your uploaded PDF. You can then edit these text fields in our interface. When you click update, we rewrite the file header with your new values without altering the visual content of the document pages.
How to Change PDF Properties
- Upload: Select your PDF file.
- Edit: Modify the fields in the sidebar (Title, Author, etc.).
- Save: Click "Update Metadata" to download the corrected file.
Why Edit Metadata?
- SEO Optimization: Search engines like Google rely on the Title and Keywords to rank PDF files.
- Professionalism: Replace "Microsoft Word - Doc1.docx" with a proper title like "Annual Report 2024".
- Organization: Document management systems sort files based on Author and Subject tags.
Fields You Can Edit
- Title: The name displayed in the window title bar.

Our tool runs entirely in your browser. We parse the headers locally. We do not read the body content of your PDF, and the file is never sent to a remote server for processing.
